GURDWARA GURU GOBAND SINGH

Designed as a place of worship for a very small Hindu community devoted to the teachings of Guru Nanak, Gurdwara Guru Goband Singh shines in the very humble skyline of a small town between Karachi and Hyderabad. This is not only a religious building but a community center as well. The ground floor serves as the langar hall which is active during the festivals whereas the floors above are prayers and religious rituals and performances. The facades have symbols from from traditions of Sikhism and screens that filter light into the space and provide privacy. The water screens and ponds cool the incoming breeze.
